The Danish Outer Space Act came into force on 1 July 2016. The first Danish strategy for space activities was published shortly after that. The rapid technological developments of the space industry have entailed, amongst others, that space activities now to a large extent can be performed from smaller but technological advanced countries, such as Denmark.

The Danish Outer Space Act sets the general provisions and principles for such activities in outer space, including, amongst others, space activities regarding military or civilian Earth observations, telecommunications, navigation, weather forecast and broadcasting.
