DLA Piper has advised BioticNRG on its acquisition of Lemvig Biogas

DLA Piper has advised BioticNRG, managed by Palisade Real Assets, in connection with its acquisition of Lemvig Biogas’ biogas plant in Lemvig, Denmark. 

The acquisition forms part of a broader initiative to support the continued development of local green energy infrastructure in the Lemvig area and enable the long-term future supply of biogas to the European gas grid. 

As part of the future development of the plant, BioticNRG intends to continue operations in close cooperation with local stakeholders and explore the establishment of an upgrading facility enabling the sale of gas to the European gas network. 

Lemvig Biogas is a well-established biogas facility with strong local ties and an important role in the area’s green transition. BioticNRG has more than 20 years’ experience within biogas and operates a portfolio of biogas plants in the United Kingdom. The investment in Lemvig is part of BioticNRG’s strategy to build and develop biogas assets and competences. 

The transaction joins a series of biogas transactions completed by the DLA Piper deal team, reflecting the team’s continued activity in the biogas sector on both sell- and buy-side.

The team was led by Kristian Tokkesdal and Søren Dejnbjerg Jensen with key support from DLA Piper specialists, Esben Aggerbeck Biering (environmental), Jacob Nim Jørgensen (real estate), and Sara Gade Løgsted (employment). 

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions.
