DLA Piper has advised Northern Horizon on three Danish social infrastructure transactions
DLA Piper has assisted Aged Care Social Infrastructure Fund (ACSIF) in three separate transactions for the acquisition of social infrastructure assets located in Denmark. ACSIF is managed by Northern Horizon, the leading specialized social infrastructure asset manager in the Nordics. The transactions are:
- In Vallensbæk, a Copenhagen suburb, a hybrid asset, combining a 48-bed care home and 16 senior housing units, has been acquired from SPD.
- In Søvind, a small community close to Horsens, Denmark’s seventh-largest city, a psychiatric care asset under construction has been acquired from OK-Fonden and SLK Aarhus A/S.
- In Nivå, situated north of Copenhagen, a new 88-bed care home has been acquired from MT Højgaard in a forward purchase deal. The care home is expected to be completed in 2028. The development project also includes 12 senior-friendly housing units still subject to planning approval.
The total deal value exceeds DKK 500m.
All assets are either newly built or under construction and will hold an appropriate sustainability certification. They will be operated by the first-class operators Diakonissestiftelsen, OK-Fonden and Altiden/Ambea.
The transactions align with the ACSIF’s ambition to expand its footprint in the market for social infrastructure assets in the Nordics.
