Camilla Wollan will be the new Managing Partner of DLA Piper in Norway from 1 July 2024. Wollan is a well-known fintech profile, top-ranked in Chambers Europe, and will now lead DLA Piper's Norwegian and Nordic management team. DLA Piper, which has offices in Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Helsinki and more than 530 lawyers, is now gearing up for further growth.

Camilla Wollan has played a vital role in establishing DLA Piper as a market leader in financial technology in Norway. She will now be responsible for implementing DLA Piper's growth strategy for all business areas and coordinating the Nordic management team.

Innovative. Dynamic

Wollan emphasises that the legal industry must become much more innovative and dynamic.

"Several industries and markets will change in the coming years. The winners will be the law firms that manage the transition. This applies to how you work as an advisor to your clients, how market-oriented you are, and how you work with your organisation and develop your employees' skills," says Camilla Wollan.

"New technology and new growth sectors are something I like to work with. At DLA Piper, we want to have a strong presence in the growth sectors of the future," says Wollan and continues,

"Furthermore, technological development and our ability to utilise it as a driving force will set the premises for our working day going forward. That's why we already have a strong focus on the use of artificial intelligence. By really wanting to be at the forefront here, we will be able to create value for our customers," says Camilla Wollan.

Ambitions for further growth

"We have clear ambitions for growth in the Norwegian market in the coming years," says Hans Christian Brodtkorb, Partner and Chairman of DLA Piper Norway. Wollan takes over from Kjetil Haare Johansen, who has been the Managing Partner of DLA Piper Norway since the autumn of 2021. Over the past three years, the firm's revenue has grown by more than NOK 100 million, and Johansen has been central to this work.

"One of DLA Piper's strengths is that we can create value for our clients by being present with lawyers in more than 90 countries. Our core areas in Norway are corporate, M&A/private equity, disputes, real estate and construction," says Brodtkorb.

"We also have a clear growth strategy within technology, AI, ESG, environmental, social and business ethics, where Camilla Wollan has been at the forefront as lawyer and partner," says Brodtkorb.

Visibility and market presence will be significant

Camilla Wollan has worked actively with clients in emerging sectors such as crowdfunding, blockchain technology, virtual currency and digital assets, and traditional financial services. Furthermore, she has extensive experience developing new business models within the traditional financial sector," says Hans Christian Brodtkorb.

"She will now contribute to further growth together with the entire team at Aker Brygge in Oslo," he adds. Wollan's insight and experience in driving growth in technology and Fintech will be central to DLA Piper's direction in the coming years.

It is the first time DLA Piper has a female Managing Partner in Norway and the Nordics.
