From time to time, companies and public authorities become involved in disputes whose resolution requires professional assistance. Some disputes are successfully settled out of court, while others require litigation or arbitration.
Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations
We represent clients involved in disputes in the corporate sector, the public sector and the construction sector as well as clients involved in insurance disputes and actions for damages. We regard dispute resolution as a particular skill, and we constantly handle technically challenging and complex cases in both Denmark and abroad. We also advise on all aspects of corporate and regulatory investigations.
We are one of the most well-reputed law firms in the area of dispute resolution. According to The Lawyer's Top 50 Litigation Survey, our global team of litigation lawyers is the largest dispute resolution team in the world. Our global presence with offices in more than 40 countries enables us to set up fully integrated teams and deliver homogeneous quality, wherever our clients do business.
DUE PROCESS OF LAW
We invest considerable resources in safeguarding and improving due process of law. Our commitment is reflected in our participation in various peer-to-peer forums such as the Council of the Danish Bar and Law Society, the Association of Danish Law Firms and the Disciplinary Board under the Danish Bar and Law Society as well as independent organisations such as the Standing Committee on Procedural Law under the Danish the Ministry of Justice and Retssikkerhedsfonden (a non-profit organisation working to uphold due process of law).
Our lawyers participate in and contribute to the public debate by writing feature articles and other articles, giving lectures and participating in discussions at Folkemødet (the People's Meeting) where, in the past few years, we have organised debates with politicians on law and order.
Behind the robes
Our litigation routine and traditions go all the way back to 1869. In "Bag kapperne" (Behind the Ropes), a book on court-room lawyers authored by Professor Ditlev Tamm, DLA Piper (formerly LETT) is the law firm with the highest number of lawyers portrayed.
