The Danish Parliament has appointed Jon Lauritzen, Partner in DLA Piper, and Anne Birgitte Gammeljord of Rovsing & Gammeljord to serve as prosecutors in the upcoming impeachment trial against Inger Støjberg, former Danish minister for immigration and integration.
Both attorneys were appointed, in late December 2020, to assist the Subcommittee of the Standing Orders Committee of the Danish Parliament in providing a legal opinion on the report by the so-called Instruction Committee (set up to investigate the instruction to separate asylum-seeker couples where one of them was under age). This legal opinion has now led to the 6th impeachment proceedings in Danish history.
“I’m honoured to have been appointed to conduct these proceedings together with Anne Birgitte Gammeljord”, says Jon Lauritzen.
