Verdane has entered into an agreement to sell Danelec Electronics, a global leader in maritime safety and digital performance solutions, to French-listed GTT (Gaztransport et Technigaz).

Established in 1995 in Birkerød, Denmark, Danelec has become a leading provider of advanced digital solutions for maritime data collection and analysis designed to enhance operational performance, safety, and decarbonisation. Over the last few years, Danelec has transformed into a performance-driven, digitally native platform trusted by thousands of vessels worldwide.

Since its acquisition by the European private equity firm Verdane in 2020, Danelec has increased revenue by nearly 250%, scaled its installed base by more than 180%, and expanded its technological capabilities through strategic acquisitions. Through the acquisitions of Kyma (Norway), a pioneer in digital ship performance monitoring; Nautilus Labs (US), a SaaS-based leader in AI-driven vessel and voyage optimization; and MacGregor’s (Germany) VDR business, Danelec has transformed into an end-to-end maritime data and analytics platform.

GTT is based in France and listed on Euronext Paris. GTT is the world leader in designing cryogenic containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of LNG. GTT operates in three key sectors: high-performance liquefied gas containment systems, smart shipping software & services, and developing low-carbon technological solutions.

The management team will continue at Danelec and join GTT as part of the leadership of the combined digital division, ensuring continuity while supporting growth acceleration.

The transaction is subject to customary conditions precedent.

DLA Piper is proud of having assisted Verdane and founder Hans Ottosen with the sale of 100% of Danelec to GTT. DLA Piper also assisted with the divestment of the majority stake in Danelec to Verdane in 2020.

The transaction was led by a DLA Piper M&A- team consisting of Karsten Pedersen, Sara Schjørring, Ida Boysen, and Nicolai Lind Andersen.
