DLA Piper has advised Heimstaden Bostad in the acquisition of Akelius’ residential properties in Denmark and Sweden

Heimstaden Bostad has acquired Akelius’ residential properties in Germany, Sweden and Denmark, comprising total 599 properties with 28,776 residential units located in Berlin, Hamburg, Stockholm, Malmö, and Copenhagen. The transaction values EUR 9.1 billion with expected closing early December.

The transaction is the largest private real estate transaction in the Nordics and one of the largest in the world.

The Danish part of the transaction comprises 18 properties located in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg consisting of 1,093 residential units, approx. 6,000 sqm. commercial space and 205 parking spaces.

DLA Piper has advised Heimstaden Bostad on the Danish and Swedish part of the transaction with a deal team lead by Emilie Møller in Denmark and Anders Malmström in Sweden.
