DLA Piper has advised Kanadevia Inova on the acquisition of the majority of the Denmark-based Babcock & Wilcox’s assets
With offices in USA, Canada, UK and Denmark, Babcock & Wilcox provides energy and environmental products, aftermarket parts and services to waste-to-energy plants, as well as power and industrial markets worldwide.
Kanadevia Inova, ultimately backed by the Japanese firm Kanadevia Corporation, is a global leader in solutions for the energy transition and circular economy.
Kanadevia Inova’s acquisition of the majority of the Denmark-based Babcock & Wilcox assets, bolsters its team in Denmark and will consolidate its support for customers across the Nordics and Europe. In addition, this transaction will reunite a team that was briefly separated when Kanadevia Inova acquired B&W Renewable Service in Denmark last year, bringing in additional advanced upgrade capabilities to support full plant lifecycle solutions. Closing of the transaction was completed 29 April 2025.
A DLA Piper core team consisting of Karsten Pedersen and Andreas Egeblad Arendt has advised Kanadevia Inova on this transaction. Thanks to Benjamin Coquerelle and Günther Marten Gonzalez-Carrascosa from Kanadevia Inova for trusting us with this transaction, as well as to Louise Celia Korpela, Andreas Hertel and Jakob Stagsted Galatius from Gorrissen Federspiel for a great collaboration and for a professional process.
