On 1 March, a group of partners and their teams from Lundgrens will join DLA Piper Denmark and relocate to the premises at Oslo Plads.

2025 opens with an exciting change as nine equity partners and four associate partners as well as a large group of attorneys and other employees will join DLA Piper Denmark. The partner admission will significantly increase the number of legal staff at DLA Piper, thereby strengthening DLA Piper’s market position as one of Denmark's largest law firms with international delivery capacity.

The negotiations leading up to the integration were characterised by shared ambitions, fostering a strong foundation for future cooperation. The objective was clear: to strengthen and grow DLA Piper as a global law firm capable, through enhanced size, of providing even more specialised expertise, while keeping its international and local grounding and continuing its full-service offering to meet market needs.

Enhanced practice areas and competitiveness

The experienced and large partner group from Lundgrens relocating to Oslo Plads in Copenhagen, will complement DLA Piper in key and already strong strategic practice areas such as Corporate M&A, Insolvency, IPT, Employment Law and Real Estate. DLA Piper Denmark is, in future, expected to have approx. 430 people in its two offices in Aarhus and Copenhagen.

"We are very thrilled to welcome the Lundgrens group to DLA Piper Denmark. The expansion will enhance our specialisation and our market position, and we are confident that the right synergies are in place to create lasting value for both our clients and ourselves," says DLA Piper Chair Peter Schäfer.

Specialised advisory services, investments in AI and other digital and technological solutions, and a focus on ESG and compliance are key areas for law firms in this day and age. The integration of the experienced and competent team will enhance DLA Piper Denmark's competitiveness, and an even stronger foundation will be created for investing in technology, people and knowledge that will benefit clients in the form of better services.

Partners look forward to working together

"We are excited to be joining DLA Piper, locally as well as globally, and to be offering our clients the benefits of strong international collaboration, a full-service product and deeper specialisation within each practice area. Moreover, it is very important to us that DLA Piper has – compared to its competitors in the market – come a long way in terms of implementing AI and other technological solutions. We are confident that this collaboration will benefit our clients, people and business partners," says Peter Mollerup, speaking on behalf of the group. The partners will be admitted and the entire group will relocate to DLA Piper on 1 March 2025.

"Our ambition remains unchanged. We aim to be the leading global law firm in Denmark and the go-to choice for both clients and talent. By adding more resources and expertise, we will have an even stronger portfolio of legal disciplines combined with deep specialisation," says Martin Lavesen, Managing Partner at DLA Piper Denmark.

The strengthened DLA Piper Denmark will continue to provide top-level legal advice to both Danish and international clients. The 13 partners joining DLA Piper Denmark are: Alexandre Latif Schleimann-Jensen, Håkun Djurhuus, Louise Krarup Simonsen, Marie Louise Aagaard, Niels Gram-Hanssen, Niels Wive Kjærgaard, Ninna Thalund Daugaard, Peter Bruun Nikolajsen, Peter Mollerup, Pia Lykke Mathiasen, Rasmus Vang, Stine Bernt Stryhn and Thomas Ulrik.
