Ulrik Bangsbo Hansen
Ulrik Bangsbo Hansen is Head of Life Sciences in DLA Piper Denmark.
Ulrik is engaged in commercial and company law and has for many years been involved in advising on and drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
He is recognised by Chambers and a member of the Board of Danish Life Science Law Association (DALILA).
Ulrik provides advice particularly within Life Sciences and coordinates DLA Piper Denmark’s cross-disciplinary advisory services. He has extensive sector knowledge and in-depth experience in regulatory issues and relevant specialist groups. His clients range from the world’s largest pharma and medical devices companies to start-ups and biotech companies.
Furthermore, Ulrik acts for the energy sector, private equity funds and industrial investors on all legal aspects, including transactions, the drafting of contracts, negotiation, interpretation, dispute resolution as well as risk management. Ulrik also advises on distribution, facility management, technical outsourcing, PPP, service, operation, agencies, licences, franchising, OEM, ESCO, joint ventures, purchasing, development and technology.
Moreover, he has a wealth of experience in investments as well as the sale and purchase of enterprises, where a large part of his advising concerns international issues.
Ulrik regularly holds courses in Life Sciences, company law, M&A and contract law.
He sits on several boards of directors, including of ARTSMedia Denmark ApS and Stroebech Media ApS.

- Ulrik headed the legal team representing the major Danish pension funds ATP and PFA in connection with a substantial investment in DONG Energy/Ørsted. The legal services included negotiating the five-party agreement between the Danish State, DONG Energy, Goldman Sachs, ATP and PFA. The transaction won the International Financial Law Review award for the most innovative transaction in Europe.
- Ulrik assisted MedTech company Danaher in connection with its strategic acquisition of Lonza Copenhagen.
- Ulrik acted for AbbVie on its acquisition of Allergan and was in charge of the integration in Denmark. The global restructuring meant that two pharma companies were to be locally integrated.
