DLA Piper advised on the sale of KMD (formerly Kommunedata), Denmark's largest IT supplier to the public sector, which was sold in late 2018 to the Japanese technology group NEC Corporation for about DKK 8 billion. The seller was the US equity fond Advent International and the Danish pension company Sampension. KMD became an independent subsidiary in the NEC group from Q1 2019 when the transaction was completed and approved by the competition authorities in EU.
