The DLA Piper team, headed by Thomas Albrechtsen, has advised the asset management and investment company Northern Horizon Capital in connection with the acquisition of a newly built independent nursing home in Frederikssund with 70 resident rooms.

In the transaction, 30 senior-friendly rental units are included in a neighbouring building, representing a total transaction amount of more than a quarter of a billion Danish kroner.

The construction is developed by one of the leading builders of private care homes, Scandinavian Property Development, and is the first Danish privately built care home with a DGNB Gold certification, addressing 14 out of the 17 the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

The acquisition was completed by a newly established fund and is the first investment of Northern Horizon Capital in Denmark.

In total, Northern Horizon Capital is managing properties worth DKK 7.5 billion with funds, typically from institutional investors.
